  • Who is conducting this survey?
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is the regional entity that oversees public transportation, traffic management, roadway design and construction funding, transportation planning and regional planning in Southern Nevada. The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) wants to make transportation-related updates in your community. In order to do this, they need travel information from their residents. The RTC hired ETC Institute (ETC), a market research firm who focuses heavily on transportation-related research. ETC has collected transportation-related research for transportation planning organizations all over the United States for over 30 years.
  • How do I get or change my travel date?
If you have forgotten or need to change your travel date, please contact support.
  • What types of travel do you want to know about?
You will be asked to keep track of every type of travel, including walking, bicycling, automobile, ride share, public transit, etc. Any type of travel that takes you from point A to point B.
  • What is a Household Travel Survey?
Household Travel Surveys show the amount of travel generated by local residents. Participants use a smartphone app, website or other methods to record where, when, how and why they travel during a single day.
  • What is the purpose of the survey?
These surveys provide information about local travel patterns and needs. They help RTC make decisions about transportation projects that impact you and your community.
  • What would I have to do?
It’s very simple. You will be asked to provide information regarding your household, household members, and vehicles. You will then select a travel date and each household member will provide travel information that includes all the locations they went to with small details of those stops.
  • How do I participate in the household travel survey?
ETC has an in-house programming team that has specifically developed mobile apps and web-based tools for collecting household travel survey data. However, if you prefer a less high-tech option, ETC can provide the survey to you via mail or one of their in-house call center employees can give you a call and do the survey right over the phone. This means the survey can be completed: Online Over the phone with a call center employee Via mail (paper surveys with free mailback option) Via Mobile app
  • Why should my household participate?
Whether you travel a little or a lot your travel represents what a lot of other residents do. You'll improve the roads you travel on for yourself and your community. Your data will help direct where transportation dollars are spent.
  • Who is paying my incentive?
ETC Institute will pay your incentive. The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) DOES NOT have anything to do with your incentive.
  • How do I receive my incentive?
ETC Institute has partnered with Tremendous, one of the largest one of the largest suppliers of online Visa debit and electronic gift cards in the US. Within 10 business days after your household successfully completes the household travel survey you will receive an email or text messages that contains a link to your incentive voucher. You click on that link and then you can select from around 100 different gift card options including a Visa debit card option. You even have the opportunity to donate your reward amount to charity. If you ever have any issues, or need us to resend your incentive, just let us know and we will be happy to help.
  • Are you going to sell my data?
No, we will not sell your personal data. If you want to read our full privacy policy, look for the black bar at the top of the website. You are never under any obligation to participate in the survey.
